iDrudge Drudge Reader 1.3 iphone app:
The Drudge Report was ranked the Top Politics publisher in a recent MediaPost ranking of online publishing sites.
More than 12 million monthly unique visitors scour the Drudge Report for the latest breaking news.
Unfortunately, the Drudge Report web site is not designed to take advantage of the advanced capabilities and rich user interfaces of the iPhone and iTouch.
The iDrudge iPhone application solves this problem by displaying up to 100 links and linked images from the Drudge Report web site in a fast-loading and easy-to-select format.
The iDrudge Drudge Reader is a customized web browser that is optimized for viewing and returning to the Drudge Report web site. It is designed so that the user can see the most important links from the Drudge Report web site, view the stories linked, and quickly return to the Drudge Report site to select another link.
Users can quickly see the images and scan the headlines and top 25 links in each of the three columns on the Drudge Report web site. Tapping a link opens a full-size window so that the linked news item can be read immediately or after only one double tap to enlarge the print. Thats all – no tap or one tap to select the column, one tap to select the item, and no taps or two taps to begin reading. When you are done reading the story, a single tap brings you quickly back to the scrollable lists of links.
YouTube videos function in the full-size viewing window so their is no need to exit the application if the linked story includes a video.
We have raced the iDrudge Drudge Reader against other browsers and the iDrudge Drudge Reader wins every time. The iDrudge Drudge Reader loads the initial page slightly faster every time, the linked stories load at the same speed, and the iDrudge Drudge Reader re-displays the initial Drudge Report page 20 times faster than other browsers.
Please keep in mind that sometimes the Drudge Report web site is very busy so any web browser would experience a delay. Also, keep in mind that if the Drudge Report has linked to a story on the web then the server hosting that story is probably very busy and may be experiencing a slowdown.
Visitors to the Drudge Report spend an average of one hour on the site, surpassing time spent on CNN.com or NYTimes.com, according to MediaPost. The iDrudge application takes advantage of the advanced capabilities and rich user interfaces of the iPhone and iTouch and allows you to read every news item linked from the Drudge Report in 30 minutes or less.
Since the Drudge Report continually updates their linked news items, iDrudge features a Refresh button to update its list of linked stories.
I should probably mention that I do not work for the Drudge Report. I am a fan of the Drudge Report who wrote this application so that I could see the photos and read the stories linked from the Drudge Report easily on my iPhone. I hope you enjoy it and find it worth the price.
Sincerely,
Joseph Nardone
